About me

I’m Naomi Appelhof, married to Mark, and together we have three wonderful children. I love gardening, caring for plants, taking walks in nature, reading, and yes, you can definitely wake me up for a wellness day.

My Background

I come from a broken family and have experienced some very deep valleys in life. I struggled with feelings of inadequacy, rejection, and a lack of identity, even as a Christian. God has done a profound work in my life. I learned that your past does not have to determine your future. What matters most is who God says you are, and my desire is to live from that truth every day.

Always Looking for Possibilities

Having done social work for more than 20 years, I have supported people facing a wide range of complex challenges.

From homelessness and addiction to mental health struggles, I have seen how hopeless situations can seem. Yet no matter how difficult the circumstances, I choose to look for possibilities and hope.

It is my passion to help others do the same. Throughout various leadership and management roles, I have had the privilege of guiding teams and supporting people in their growth. These experiences have sharpened my coaching skills and deepened my passion for empowering others to walk in their God-given strengths.

Guiding Women Toward Healing

Since my youth, I have been actively involved in discipling young women within the church.

It is a passion that has never left me. My focus is helping women find healing and restoration, or learn how to navigate life's challenges in a healthy and God-centered way.

My Professional Background

I hold a degree in Social Pedagogical Care and have completed a Post-Bachelor program in Healthcare Management. I also completed the Basic Coaching Program through TotalBalance and received training in Pastoral Counseling through CPC, where I am currently affiliated as a counselor and partner.

In addition, I graduated from the Evangelical College's Speaker Training Program. I am currently furthering my education through the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC), where I am studying to become a Mental Health Coach. This program is conducted in English.

Why Imago Dei Counseling?

Because of the brokenness caused by sin, the image of God in us has been distorted. It can feel as though you are looking through a shattered mirror. You may experience this brokenness in your own life, in your relationships, and in society around you. Sometimes the pain feels overwhelming, and the situation may seem hopeless. But there is hope!

Growing into God's Image

Imago Dei is Latin for "Image of God." As we grow in our knowledge of Him and apply the truth of His Word to our lives, we are transformed more and more into His likeness.

The fingerprint in our logo symbolizes not only the uniqueness of every individual, but also the truth that our identity is rooted in God. Every person is deeply loved, precious, and valuable to Him.

Flourish in Every Area of Your Life

My desire is to encourage, strengthen, and inspire you so that you can flourish in every area of your life.

Together, we will work toward a life marked by peace, trust, and balance. Helping you grow in your relationship with God, with yourself, and with those around you.

Know Who You Are

As you grow, you will discover who God is, what He has placed within you, and how you can use your unique gifts to make an impact in the world and bring Him glory.

How amazing is that?

My desire for you

My prayer for you is the same prayer found in Scripture:

“We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of his holy people in the kingdom of light.”
(Colossians 1:9–12 NIV)
